Questions to ask yourself before creating Gated Content –
Is the content valuable enough for somebody to want to fill out a form to get it? If yes, move forward.
Is the content something they can easily find somewhere else for free without filling out a form? If yes, you need to make your content/CTA different so the only way to get what you’re providing is to fill out your form.
Is the form easy and fast to fill out? Less fields the better. Ideally, Name, Phone, Email. More than that could lose conversions. (phone is nice because most our clients prefer to call the lead vs email only)
Where will the CTAs for this Gated Content go? Blog Block CTA banner/form on blog articles in a certain category? Will MEs run STA® ads, maybe add CTA button to site header? etc..(tagup with ME on this – they should be excited for a new channel to generate leads and want to help promote it)

Process once ready to go…
Create Gated Content as an SEO optimized landing page (do not block from search engines or password protect, we want the best of both worlds here…gated content traffic + SEO traffic)
Once the page is done/ready, create your landing page
The landing page should have some additional bullets on the Gated Content and a sign-up form such as this https://madshot.net/0d9c6a209909.png or this https://madshot.net/363629f63fa9.png
Setup the form to lead to a thank you page with conversion tracking on it and a message that says “Thank you! Please see your email for a link to [gated content]!.
When the form is filled out, an auto-responder email should be sent to the user with the link to their Gated Content. They will simply click the link in the email to access the content, no password required.
Once that’s all setup, it’s time to add the CTA block to your relevant blog(s) and anywhere else on the website that makes sense. Make sure to test the links/form/etc.. to make sure all works well.
Once done, start using the CTA in your ads, etc.. Also, make sure your lead forms are routing into your CRM

Long-Term Goals –
Think of a good piece of Gated Content for each Blog Category.
Then create it and it’s corresponding landing page/form.
Then add the relevant CTA block CTA to all the blogs you create for those specific Blog categories.
This will make the CTA much more relevant to the topic and thus convertible.
